Meeting With Lighting Designer
Meeting With Lighting Designer
In this post I will be speaking about our meeting with the light designer and what we got told.
We had our first meeting with the lighting designer to discuss the different lighting we want to use for our set and see what advice he has towards them. For the projections we want to include, to achieve this look we will get a camera and aim it at one of the lava lamps, after this we will get the projector and fire it onto a polystyrene and bounce it back onto the artist to give her that beauty lighting. Originally we had told the designer that we wanted to have a beauty light shining down onto the artist, however, this would make her look scary and not beautiful. Having said that, using the polystyrene to bounce back light onto her will make her glow and look great on camera. We also decided that it will look best when lighting the set up we will place them low rather than high to create that edgy look and make it surreal to house lights. Other than this, most of our sets will have the lava lamps which will already give off light. Another element of lighting we will use is mirroring which will reflect more light in an interesting manner. For the final dark set, we will use the lava lamp to get that soft lighting on the artist and the strobe lights in the back where the dancers will be to make it more firm.
Overall, the lightings we chose are achievable and will suit well into our music video. We will keep the projections nearby throughout the whole shoot day as it makes it appealing and allows us to achieve more shots to get the vibe we are going for.
